Agricultural Producer Training

A cooperative program between the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture will provide several training opportunities for agricultural producers who are looking for ways to reduce the risk of doing business in the ag sector.

The training will cover five major risk areas: production, marketing, financial, legal and human resources. Specific topics will be diversification, crop insurance, marketing contracts, good record keeping and financial planning with training aimed at particular producers such as alligator producers and tomato growers. Other topics having broad appeal are new millennium agriculture and women in agriculture.

Below is a complete list of training initiatives scheduled for this Spring and Summer 2002. The schedule is constantly changing. Please check it periodically.
