I am Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam.

Our state needs your help to prevent wildfires.

Because of the warm Florida climate that we all enjoy, we are at risk of wildfire almost any time of year.

However, our forests and wild lands are at greatest risk in the spring.

During this season the wind can quickly change a small fire into a raging wildfire, destroying forests and threatening nearby homes.

Before you burn anything outdoors visit www.firewise.org or your local Division of Forestry to ensure you burn legally and safely.
