Foliage
Environmental horticulture in Florida--which includes woody ornamental plants, trees, flowering potted crops, bedding plants and tropical indoor foliage--represents a more than $1.3 billlion industry. Florida led the nation in 1995 in net wholesale sales of foliage.
Foliage Production:
The two major areas of foliage production in the state include the Apopka area, encompassing Lake, Orange and Seminole counties, and southeastern Florida, encompassing Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach counties.
Sustaining the Environment:
Foliage producers oin Florida encourage public awareness of horticulture's positive impact on the environment, water management, soil conservation and the benefits of foliage towards cleaner air.
