Kumquat

History and Facts:
Kumquats are tiny golden-orange citrus fruits that grow on small evergreen shrubs. They are usually 2 to 2 1/2 inches in length, and are entirely edible with a juicy texture.

Nutritional Value:
Kumquats have about 12 calories per fruit.

Storage:
Kumquats should be stored in the cooler, and can be refrigerated up to one month. The fruit tends to be tart at the beginning of the harvest but becomes sweeter as the season progresses.

December to May
