2005 Florida Ag Literacy Day

Two Thousand Florida Classrooms to Participate in Florida's First Agriculture Literacy Day March 17

Florida Ag in the Classroom, Inc. (FAITC) is pleased to announce Florida Agriculture Literacy Day 2005. In support of FAITC’s mission of helping teachers and students gain a better understanding about agriculture, FAITC is working with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in declaring March 17th as Florida Agricultural Literacy Day.

On this day, we are asking our friends throughout Florida’s agricultural industry to commit to go into an elementary classroom and read one of our designated books and talk with students about the importance of Florida agriculture.

Please help us educate our future leaders of tomorrow about the significance of our food and fiber system by participating in Florida’s Agriculture Literacy Day.

Click on the link below, fill out the form and fax it to the FAITC office at (352) 846-1391 before February 18, 2005. Once your form is received, FAITC will send you a book to read and a stack of bookmarks to give to the students. It is your responsibility however to make contact with your local schools and set up the visit.

Thanks again for your support of the FAITC program and your overall support of Florida agriculture. If you have any questions please feel free to call the FAITC office at (352) 846-1391.
