Richard Menendez joined the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in 2002 and represents Florida's agriculture community through multiple marketing projects. He works with several industries including potatoes, equine, viticulture and strawberries, oversees advertising sales for Fresh from Florida Magazine, and organizes several incentive promotional programs involving grocery store chains in the Southeast.
Prior to his work with the Department, he served in a consulting capacity for an architect for several school and church projects. He also worked in a managerial role with a mill supply company, and for Mobile Home Industries. While in the United States Air Force, Richard was a contracting officer who negotiated and administered contracts for non-nuclear weapon systems.
Richard holds a bachelor's degree from LaGrange College with a major in business.
