Agribusiness Firms Invited to Participate in Food Trade Shows

TALLAHASSEE Florida Agriculture Commissioner Bob Crawford today invited agribusinesses to expand their market potential by participating with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in two high-profile food trade shows.

The SIAL Food Show will be held in Paris, France, October 18-22, 1998. It is the largest food and beverage exhibition in the world this year, with more than 110,000 visitors expected from 167 countries. The Department will host a Florida Pavilion, which consists of four booths that Florida agricultural companies can buy to exhibit their products before an international crowd of buyers.

The Americas Food and Beverage Show, which attracts buyers from Latin America and the Caribbean, will be held in Miami, December 2-4, 1998. The Department again will host a Florida Pavilion in which eight booths are available for sale to Florida food and beverage companies to promote their products.

"These events provide an opportunity for Florida companies to showcase their products before an international audience of qualified buyers at a very reasonable cost," Crawford said.
