Florida Horticulture in the Marketplace
The Florida License and Bond Law is intended to facilitate the marketing of Florida agricultural products by encouraging a better understanding between buyers and sellers and by providing a marketplace that is relatively free of unfair trade practices and defaults. The perishable nature of agricultural products and the methods by which they move through the marketing channels make such protection essential to the agricultural industry in this state.

The purpose of the law is to help assure that the producers of products covered by the law receive proper accounting and payment for their products. This brochure explains products covered, who must comply, who is exempt, license required, how to apply, fees, and responsibilities.
