Arlette Roberge graduated from Florida State University, cum laude with a bachelor's degree in art. She has been employed in the fields of advertising, visual communication and public relations for over 20 years, working for various advertising agencies and publishing companies.
In 1980 she joined Florida State University in the development of vocational educational textbooks and other career development material.
In 1983, she began employment with Knight Ridder newspapers at the Tallahassee Democrat. Her last position in the Community Relations Department provided experience with various community outreach efforts including March of Dimes WalkAmerica, Springtime Tallahassee, United Way, Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce, Academic All-Star Recognition, Tallahassee Urban League, and various public school, community college and university events and promotions.
In 1990, she joined the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. In 1994 she was promoted to Public Information Director and managed the development of the Department's publications. She was integral in developing campaigns for environmental, consumer, and food safety issues as well as the promotion of various Florida agriculture commodities. In 1998, she took over the responsibilities of administering the "Fresh from Florida" program as well as implementing many Department-sponsored promotions on behalf of Florida 's agricultural industries.
