Native to southeastern Asia

Season: June - March

Size: 2 - 7 inches long

carambola (star fruit)

Nutrition: Good source of vitamin C, vitamin A, phosphorus and potassium

Uses: Fresh, salads, desserts, sauces, wine

Allow to ripen at room temperature until yellow color develops on inside of ribs (2 -5 days).
Flesh is yellow to golden-yellow, crisp and sweet.
May be eaten fresh or refrigerated up to 7 days in plastic bags.
